Hot Weather Challenged by Water Fountains

Deniz Feneri Association continues to build water fountains and wells in Turkey and other countries as part of "Water is Civilization" Project in order to meet people´s water needs in arid regions. The most recent part of the project was completed in Şanlıurfa; water fountain built in the names of Nuri and Nilgün Karanfil. Nuri Karanfil´s family had decided to do charity work in his name after his death and consulted Deniz Feneri. Deniz Feneri explained about the need for water fountains in Şanlıurfa, as the regions was one of the driest regions of Turkey; and Deniz Feneri built the fountain with the approval of Nilgün Hanım. The fountain has been built in the garden of Şanlıurfa İmam Hatip High School so that students and passers by on the route could make use of it. A refrigerating system was added to the fountain regarding that Şanlıurfa is one of the hottest regions of Turkey. The fountain costed 5.000 TLs.
