Deniz Feneri Association Continues to Leave Unforgettable Legacies in Thailand.

In 2022, the Patani 15 July Martyrs Elementary School, whose construction was completed and started providing education, had a dormitory built for the students attending the school, which was opened with a grand ceremony. This year, the Tayland Hacı Özgül Taşkın Girls' Student Dormitory, whose opening we celebrated, was prepared to accommodate thousands of students for generations to come. In addition to the opening of the girls' dormitory, the foundation of the Mehmet Akif İnan Boys' Dormitory, which is planned to be completed with the contributions of the Isparta Provincial Directorate of National Education and Memur-Sen, was also laid.

With the support of the Taşkın family, the Tayland Hacı Özgül Taşkın Girls' Student Dormitory, which was put into service, will accommodate thousands of students for generations to come. In addition to the opening of the girls' dormitory, the foundation of the Mehmet Akif İnan Boys' Dormitory, which is planned to be completed with the contributions of the Isparta Provincial Directorate of National Education and Memur-Sen, was also laid.

The opening ceremony was attended by İbrahim Taşkın and his family, Av. Mehmet Cengiz, the President of Deniz Feneri Association, and Mehmet Sargın, the Mediterranean Representative of Deniz Feneri Association. The opened girls' student dormitory is 2 stories high and consists of 16 rooms. The dormitory can accommodate up to 80 students at the same time. It is planned to build the boys' student dormitory with the same specifications.

Mehmet Sargın, the Mediterranean Representative of Deniz Feneri Association, shared his feelings and thoughts about the Tayland Hacı Özgül Taşkın Girls' Student Dormitory as follows:

"Patani in Thailand has a history as the Patani Islamic Kingdom. However, it ended in the early 1900s with the occupation of the British and Buddhist Thais. The original people of Patani are a Malay-origin population. Approximately 11 million Muslims live in the region. These Muslims love Turkey very much. Whenever they see the Turkish flag, they come to hug us, they want to talk. They have a great interest in Turks. This situation both makes us happy and affects us. They provide Turkish education in their schools. Children greet us in Turkish wherever we go. It is a nation in love with Turkey. The people of Patani, who are fighting for independence, are a oppressed people. Therefore, they need help. As Turkey, we have been operating in the region for a long time. It was a beautiful opening. The children, who had to stay in makeshift shelters, were very happy to have their dormitories. A modern dormitory was built. As we see the happiness of the children, we are happy, and we continue to do our best to reach more children."
