How Does the Process Work After a Donation Is Made

Doing good often starts with a donation. However, one of the most important issues for donors is whether their donation reaches those in need correctly. As the Deniz Feneri Association, we consider it our fundamental responsibility to carry out this process transparently, reliably, and systematically.

In this article, we explain step by step how your donation is processed from the very first moment and how it is delivered to those in need.

1. Recording the Donation: Donation Registration Unit

Every donation you make is first recorded completely into the systems by the Donation Registration Unit.

All donations are meticulously processed into the YOP (Aid Organization Program) software used within Deniz Feneri. Thanks to this system:

• The record of every donation is kept completely
• The type of donation (orphan, food, emergency aid, etc.) is clearly determined
• It becomes traceable to which project and which need group the donation belongs

This stage is the first and most critical step for your donation to reach the right place.

2. Reaching the Right Place: Transfer to Relevant Units

Your donations are transferred to the relevant units in accordance with their purpose:

• Orphan donations → Orphan Unit
• Food, emergency aid, or other donations → relevant project teams

Especially in orphan support, the Orphan Unit follows the situation of each child individually. Thus, donations are directed straight to the identified people in need.

3. Our Field Teams

One of the strongest aspects of Deniz Feneri is its actively working teams in the field.

Donation Acceptance and Visit Team
This is the team that goes to the donors and receives the donations

• Visits donors on-site
• Receives donations within the scope of official processes
• If a donation is requested from your home by an official, this is not random; it takes place within the scope of a pre-planned visit with you. This is an indicator that the process is carried out in a controlled and recorded manner.
  

On-site Social Review Team
This is the team that investigates whether those registered as in need with the association are truly in need

• Visits those in need on-site
• Determines the real state of need
• Evaluates the accuracy of applications, ensuring the healthy progression of registration processes

4. Payment and Documentation Process

Transparency in the donation process is one of our most important principles. Therefore, every payment is strictly documented:

• For cash donations: An official receipt is issued
• For donations made by card: A slip is provided via the POS device
• For online donations: It is recorded via the system and leaves a digital trace

These documents guarantee that your donation has been officially recorded and securely processed.

5. Donations Received Through the Website

Donations made through our website are received over a completely secure infrastructure and transferred directly to the relevant aid item.

• Every donation is recorded in the system
• Automatic routing is done according to the donation type
• It is tracked instantly by the relevant units
