Nurullah, the middle of four siblings, is only twelve years old and has been battling cerebral palsy since a very young age. Unfortunately, his illness is very severe and he undergoes surgeries at certain intervals. With only the father earning minimum wage and exhausting all resources over the years due to the ongoing treatment in a neighboring province, the family is struggling to cover the costs, which will exceed 100,000 liras by the planned surgery in early April, as advised by the doctor who has been following Nurullah for years. The monthly expenses for the reservoir, set, and sensor used in the treatment along with the device amount to 825 liras. When the costs of the operation and the family's travel and accommodation expenses in Diyarbakır during this period are added up, it becomes very challenging for the family.

Recently informed about the situation and visiting the family, our volunteer in the province initiated a collective effort both in official institutions and in the education community to cover the necessary amount, while entrusting half of the required funds to you, the Deniz Feneri donors. After we accepted and committed to support, when we contacted the family, Hatice, the mother, was a bit helpless, a bit tired, but mostly grateful for her children who share in her worries. She shed tears of gratitude for a while and couldn't speak.
