Our Orphan Projects Prepare Thousands of Orphans for the Future" At Deniz Feneri, we are preparing thousands of orphans for the future through our orphanages and orphan complexes.

Deniz Feneri conducts orphan projects in more than 20 countries globally, either running orphan projects or contributing to their academic and religious education in orphan complexes and orphanages, aiding their preparation for the future.

Our association sponsors thousands of orphans in Turkey and worldwide. With the support of our donors, we give a helping hand to orphans, working towards their upbringing and sustaining their lives.

Our orphanage and orphan complex projects have garnered significant support and interest from our esteemed donors in recent years. Establishing orphanages and orphan complexes in countries like Sri Lanka, Somalia, Ghana, and Kenya has provided opportunities for thousands of orphaned children’s growth and their education progress. Deniz Feneri Orphanages, operational with the support of both individual and corporate donors, are currently serving hundreds of children.

Due to reasons like wars, illnesses, and hunger, there are currently over 200 million orphans, especially in Muslim countries in Africa and Asia, according to official UN figures. However, various independent organizations suggest this number might be close to 400 million. Unfortunately, conflicts and war conditions in regions encompassing Iraq's invasion in 1991, including Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine, continue.

Millions of people in these areas have perished, lost their homes, or have been forced to flee. The segment most affected by wars are children left without parents.

Additionally, in Africa, ongoing droughts, famines, water shortages, poverty, and epidemics lead to millions of children becoming orphans every year. Unfortunately, the average life expectancy in Africa remains at 45-50 years. In some regions, this falls below 40 years. Many of the world's poorest countries are still in Africa. The Sahel region, predominantly Muslim, suffers from ongoing colonial activities, instability, famine, and water shortages, rendering millions unable to meet their basic humanitarian needs. Our humanitarian aid efforts in countries like Benin, Burundi, Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Niger, Chad, Mali, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Sudan, and Burkina Faso continue alongside Ramadan projects and sacrifice activities, focusing on orphan support.

At Deniz Feneri Association, we both support our orphans and fulfill their needs for education and shelter by constructing orphanages and schools. Because orphans are entrusted to us by Allah. In various parts of the Quran, Allah commands us to care for orphans and to watch over them. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who himself was an orphan, emphasizes the importance of orphan sponsorship in many of his sayings.

Narrated by Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be in Paradise like this," and he indicated with his index and middle fingers, separating them slightly apart. (Muslim, Zuhd 42)
