Water Well Pool Donation

In this millennium, thousands of children die every day due to diseases stemming from sewage waters and lack of basic hygiene conditions. Unfortunately, a significant portion of these tragic deaths occurs in Africa.

According to UN reports, over 2 billion people worldwide lack access to clean water. Every day, 4,000 children die due to diseases arising from contaminated water and unhealthy conditions, resulting in 1.8 million deaths per year. To draw attention to the escalating clean water problem, protect drinkable water sources, and increase them, the United Nations declared March 22nd as "World Water Day" in 1993.

The depletion of water resources worldwide has reached alarming levels. Recent compilations indicate a looming danger with the disappearance of clean water sources. Over the past 100 years, global water consumption has increased tenfold while per capita water availability has halved. According to data from the United Nations Environment Programme, 2.4 billion people globally lack adequate wastewater treatment services. Approximately 470 million people live in water-scarced areas, with around 10 million, mostly children, succumbing to waterborne diseases annually.

In Africa, where life is challenging due to climatic conditions and geographical features, people struggle in every aspect to survive. The absence of the most fundamental necessity, water, significantly affects the local population's resilience. The impoverished population travels kilometers daily to access water, and the water they hardly reach is often unhealthy and contaminated, leading to epidemics and fatalities. Deniz Feneri's water well donation initiatives are bringing hope to Africa.

DENIZ FENERI AND WATER WELL PROJECTS

Deniz Feneri Association has been running the Water Well Project for years to address Africa's water scarcity issue. We have opened over 2000 wells in various African countries and Asia, with ongoing initiatives.

The duration for opening a water well in Africa ranges from 6 to 8 months. Projects are meticulously monitored from start to finish by our International Relations department at Deniz Feneri Association throughout their initiation and continuation periods.

The cost of opening a water well varies between 1500 Euros to 3500 Euros per country.
