Table of Kindness
The Table of Kindness Project, carried out by the Deniz Feneri Association within the Esenler Soup Kitchen, is a comprehensive social aid initiative aimed at delivering regular hot meals to those in need and providing rapid and strong support to larger communities during disasters and crisis situations.
Deniz Feneri Esenler Soup Kitchen delivers not only hot meals to thousands of tables every day, but also compassion, solidarity, and brotherhood. Standing by those in need during difficult times, our soup kitchen continues its daily aid activities and can also respond quickly in extraordinary situations thanks to its strong production and logistics infrastructure.
Under normal conditions, the Esenler Soup Kitchen has a daily hot meal production capacity for 3,000 people and provides regular hot meal support six days a week to families in need in and around Esenler. In addition, special meal programs for university students support the daily nutritional needs of young people. Regular food and meal organizations are also carried out for homeless individuals, the elderly, and other groups in need of social support.
One of the strongest aspects of our soup kitchen is its preparedness for disasters and emergencies. In times of earthquakes, floods, and similar crises, our soup kitchen can be rapidly activated with a capacity to produce meals for up to 100,000 people within 24 hours. When necessary, hot meal production is increased, and packaged meal support is also provided if needed. Meals are prepared under hygienic conditions and delivered to affected areas through an active distribution network consisting of 4 vehicles and 4 drivers. In this way, not only food support is provided, but also a strong sense of humanitarian solidarity that lets disaster victims know they are not alone.
The Table of Kindness Project is not only a meal distribution aid model but also a comprehensive structure that includes special support programs for different target groups. Within the scope of the project, various distribution programs are implemented for citizens, students, and families in need.
Soup Distribution Projects include serving hot soup in front of high schools, around hospitals, in designated public squares, or in memory of deceased relatives during morning hours. The daily distribution capacity is planned for 500 people, and soup production is carried out in the association’s own soup kitchen. The cost calculations include raw materials, energy, kitchen consumables, and preparation expenses used in production. The soup cost per person is 35 TL.
Dessert Distribution Project involves distributing pudding produced in the association’s soup kitchen to students, especially in front of high schools during morning or lunchtime hours, in hygienic single-use cardboard containers. This initiative aims to provide small but meaningful support to students’ daily lives. The dessert cost per person is 35 TL.
Chicken – Rice – Ayran Distribution Project provides meal offerings to citizens in front of mosques after Friday prayers or on special occasions. The chicken and rice menu prepared in the association’s soup kitchen is distributed together with ayran in hygienic single-use containers. The cost of chicken, rice, and ayran per person is 100 TL.
3-Course Meal Distribution for University Students aims to support young people who experience economic difficulties while continuing their education. Within this scope, 3 hot meals prepared in the association’s soup kitchen are delivered to students in hygienic single-use containers. The project aims to support students’ daily nutritional needs and contribute to helping them continue their education under healthier conditions. The meal cost per person is 240 TL.
Deniz Feneri Association Esenler Soup Kitchen approaches these activities not only as an aid-focused structure but also as a sustainable social enterprise model with long-term continuity. In this model, where donation-based social aid activities and income-generating social projects are carried out together, meal distributions for universities, high schools, hospitals, mosques, metrobus stops, and families in need, offerings made in memory of deceased individuals, and education-focused social projects are maintained within a transparent and organized system. In addition, services such as wedding, funeral, and circumcision meals, corporate sales channels, and public cafeteria collaborations enable the soup kitchen’s production capacity to be used more efficiently, creating a strong structure where social impact and operational sustainability support each other.
By supporting the Table of Kindness Project, you too can deliver a hot meal to the table of someone in need, contribute to a student’s daily nutrition, and stand beside a disaster victim during difficult times. Every contribution you make will be not only a meal, but also part of a movement of kindness that upholds hope, solidarity, and human dignity.
