Thousand Martyrs, Thousand Water Wells

We are opening 1000 water wells in Africa to honor the names of our heroic martyrs in our country.
Since 1996, Deniz Feneri has been engaged in numerous humanitarian activities both in our country and abroad. Educational centers, orphanages, mosques, and water wells stand as our enduring legacies. While each of these projects serves as a remedy to the plight of millions of oppressed individuals, our water wells address the most crucial need - the need for water in times of thirst.
Global Water Scarcity
One of the world's most significant challenges is global water scarcity, resulting from increasing population, dwindling resources, and disrupted natural balance. Particularly felt more intensely in Africa and Asia, water scarcity leads to thousands falling ill or perishing every day. Various independent organizations such as the UN and WWF provide data that vividly illustrates the magnitude of this issue. According to their reports, every 90 seconds, a child dies due to water scarcity or waterborne diseases, with 700 million people suffering from water scarcity daily. More than 2 billion individuals lack access to clean water, and on average, an African walks approximately 6 kilometers to reach a clean water source.
For the past 15 years, Deniz Feneri has opened water wells in 15 different countries around the world. From Zimbabwe to Indonesia, Ghana to Bangladesh, the wells we've opened have alleviated the thirst of tens of thousands in need, providing relief not only to humans but to other creatures as well. Our tally of water wells has reached 1850 and continues to grow.
1000 Wells for Our 1000 Martyrs
Now, we are in the pleasant rush of adding thousands more to our existing wells. With the support of the Turkish Ministry of Internal affairs, General Directorate of Civil Society Relations, we are launching the '1000 Wells for Our 1000 Martyrs' project. This initiative aims to immortalize the names of our revered martyrs - those who willingly sacrificed themselves for our country, flag, and nation - by echoing their memory thousands of kilometers away from our homeland and joining their legacy in the prayers of our African brothers and sisters. Through the wells planned in Benin, Burundi, Ethiopia, Somalia, Ghana, and Eritrea, we will unite our thirsty brethren with water and honor our heroic martyrs through prayers of reverence.
Your contributions to our project allow you to either sponsor an entire water well or be a part of facilitating the construction of one. These wells, bearing the names of our martyrs, will be completed through your donations, becoming your legacy in providing the most significant necessity for thousands of oppressed individuals - the alleviation of thirst.
